Ladies make some room in your closet! Just when we got tired of all the wrap, fringe and split skirts there`s finally something new and exciting to flap in the wind : The carwash skirt. More sexy than its split predecessor and more modern than the fringe one, the carwash skirt made a mark on the fall winter runways.
I designed this skirt a couple of weeks ago but it was on my mind since last summer, when I was researching the fall upcoming trends. It`s not like I haven`t seen this skirt type before, but this time I fell in love with it immediately. I`ve chosen this see through fabric because I`ve designed it with pants on my mind .You know I have a soft spot for skirts worn over pants. `Then why didn`t you wear it with pants?` you might ask. Well, that`s because I wanted to do something else. You`re going to see me wearing skirts over pants a lot.
I went with an all black ensemble to keep the look sophisticated while playing with textures. I think the turtleneck sweater is the perfect companion since this skirt type is quite revealing. The military lace up boots and the wool hardware jacket bring the perfect badass vibe to this otherwise ladylike look. Here are my suggestions:
• Try it with a leather biker jacket and some flat lace up boots. And if you wish to be more decent pair it with some opaque tights.
• For a cool high school girl vibe team it with a bomber jacket and some sneakers. This would be such a great off duty look.
• I would wear this skirt with leather skinny pants any day. Add a white or blue crisp shirt into the mix. Finish with a black blazer on your shoulders for the ultimate modern girl look.
• The carwash skirt is also perfect for evening. Pair it with a silk shirt or cami and stain your lips with a dark berry lipstick for a seductive look. Complete the look with a pair of tight ankle boots. Keep your face and eye make-up nude.
I`m wearing Pepe Jeans jacket and Dune ankle boots.
