And I`m back…by popular demand. Aaah, I love hitting people with Queen B`s poetry. ?
I`m particularly cheery these days because in less than 3 weeks I`m flying to Paris. This trip was on my `Future Plans` list for quite a while so I couldn`t be more thrilled. I have never visited France before due to a slight French language phobia I had for years but it`s all gone now. I actually think it came with age.?
What are my plans for Paris? I`m planning to attend some cool blogger events, wander the streets `slightly` over-dressed, have only the most delicious, high cholesterol food and visit some amazing places along with taking a zillion photos. Let`s just say I got a little too many plans for only 4 days. So I`m pretty sure I`ll be on the run constantly. ?
Once I come back (and I`m pretty sure I`ll come back super pumped and excited to get back to work) I`ll start working on other 2017 plans. Like launching a very cool, small t-shirt collection. ? It was time to create something awesome and I already started working on it but I had to stop in order to take care of other stuff. So I decided to take a break until I get the other tasks out of the way. Because the truth is I suck at task-switching and for some reason I find it very difficult to constantly shift my attention from one thing to the other.
So as I was getting more and more concerned about my inability to jump from one task to the other, I decided to do a little web research in the hopes I will find some great tips and tricks. But luckily I was put at ease immediately. Because studies have shown multi-tasking and task switching is not effective at all, as in the end it takes more time to get the tasks completed and you tend to make more errors. And if Steve Jobs said `Be like a postage stamp—stick to one thing until you get there` we should definitely take his word for it.
So no more task-switching and multi tasking guys. Cause it clearly doesn`t work to our advantage. And when it comes to very important tasks, I for one prefer to wait till I can be completely focused.?
But what about you guys? How do you cope with busy schedules? Do you find task-switching as annoying and difficult as I do? Leave a comment below.
Also if you would like to share some Paris travel tips I would very much appreciate it. Any cool places to visit? Or special things to do?
