This post is entirely dedicated to the shirt dress. I have to admit this wardrobe piece is one of my all-time favorites. I used to wear it 7 years ago, I`m still wearing it now…that must be saying something. And when I found this minimalist Cos one I knew it would be a closet keeper. I just had to have it. What I like the most about this one, besides the clean look, is that is not see through. It`s made of a slightly thicker fabric and that makes it perfect for chilly days.
A shirt dress is so easy to wear, you just add some nice accessories and maybe a nice lipstick and boom…you look polished. When I think about all the possibilities I almost feel like I should do a `one piece -10 ways` kind of post around it.
I paired this shirt dress with this awesome beanie I made last week and a pair of Timberland boots. Then I tied another shirt around my waist in an experiment to see how many shirts I can wear at once (and there were only two …I know I can do better than this ☺️). And that`s it…it really is that simple.
Here are some other suggestions:
• Put a simple mini skirt over it. Choose one in a neutral tone and complete the look with a pair of high heeled over the knee boots.
• Team it with a pair of high waisted flare trousers and unbutton the dress from your waist down. Then add a skinny scarf around your neck. Complete the look with a sleek ponytail. Choose a shirt dress in a soft flowing fabric, so it waves when you walk.
• Wear it over a maxi skirt. Cinch it in the waist then add a beanie and a biker jacket on your shoulders. High heels are a must.
• For a punk feel wear it with socks and creepers. Put on a dark lipstick and tie a printed sweatshirt around your waist.
That being said if you don`t own a shirt dress yet, you can buy one now and you’ll thank yourself for years to come.
